Red Herring Magazine Names BroadVision as One of the Digital Economy's Top 50 Public Companies
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 2000--BroadVision®, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN - news), a leading worldwide supplier of personalized e-business applications, announced today that Red Herring has selected BroadVision for the Red Herring 100, the magazine's annual list of the top private and public companies in the technology industry.
From more than 1,000 nominations, Red Herring honors 100 companies that it deems have defined new standards, defended their business models, and developed the products and services now shaping the way the world does business.
To arrive at the final list of companies included in the Red Herring 100, editors divided the digital economy into markets they consider critical and growing including entertainment, semiconductors, business services, consumer electronics, networking equipment, telecommunications, wireless, and business-to-business. In making these selections, Red Herring editors evaluated each company's vision, management, and business strategies as well as its financial track record, competition, marketing techniques and strength of partnerships -- all of which impact the ability of the companies chosen to affect change in the new economy.
A complete list of the Red Herring 100 for 2000 is available in the magazine's June issue and can also be found on the World Wide Web at http://www.redherring.com.
